Vento e Foglia (Wind and Leaf)

Vento e Foglia (Wind and Leaf) is an evocative visual-theatre performance on Sway Pole, in which two figures suspended between sky and earth bring to life a poetic choreography of balance, movement and lightness. Wind and Leaf become the protagonists of a wordless story dedicated to the passing of time, nature and the eternal succession of the seasons.

At the top of the Sway Pole, the two performers move through wide swings, approaching and moving away from one another in space. The poles flex with their bodies, transforming every movement into an aerial dance capable of surprising the audience.

The Wind represents an invisible and relentless force: it crosses time, moves the clouds, shakes the trees and accompanies the changing seasons.

The Leaf is fragile and ever-changing. It is born, grows, changes colour and finally allows itself to be carried away by the wind. Yet its apparent end becomes the beginning of a new cycle.

Through spectacular costumes, masks, music and movement, Vento e Foglia (Wind and Leaf) symbolically tells the passage from spring to summer, from autumn to winter, and finally to new rebirth.

The shapes and colours of the costumes evoke the sky, clouds and the transformations of nature. The performers’ oscillations make visible what we normally cannot see: the movement of the air, the passing of time and the invisible force that continually transforms everything.

The verticality of the Sway Pole allows the two figures to rise above the audience, creating images of great visual impact and an almost dreamlike dimension.

Vento e Foglia (Wind and Leaf) is designed for festivals, cultural events, outdoor performances and events seeking to offer audiences an original and strongly visual experience.

The absence of spoken words makes the performance immediately accessible to audiences of every age and nationality.

A performance suspended between visual theatre, dance and performing arts, in which Wind becomes the breath of time and Leaf its fragile travelling companion.

Vento e Foglia (Wind and Leaf) thus tells of the transience of life but also of its ability to renew itself: everything changes, everything passes and, as in nature, everything can be born again.
