Luce
Luce is a visual show by Compagnia dei Folli that explores every facet of this fundamental element through images, movement and scenic suggestions. The audience is guided on a sensory and poetic journey in which light becomes the absolute protagonist, a symbol of birth, energy, order and transformation.
The entrance of light marks the absolute beginning of creation, of being and existence. An emblematic concept already echoed at the very opening of the Bible, in the powerful words: “Wayy’omer ʼelohȋm: Yehȋ ʼôr. Wayyehȋ ʼôr”, meaning “God said, ‘Let there be light!’ and there was light.” This event, a transcendent and resonant “Big Bang”, generates a luminous epiphany that tears through the silence and darkness of nothingness, allowing creation to blossom in all its magnificence. The divine creative act, expressed through the image of “separation”, brings order to primordial “disorder”, transforming emptiness into harmony.
The performance is enriched by flying spheres that float through the air, spreading glimmers of light and creating a magical atmosphere. Cutting-edge lighting effects transform the space, while dynamic projections come to life on unexpected surfaces, such as giant butterflies glowing with vibrant colours or transparent spheres becoming three-dimensional screens. From the depths of the abyss emerge light, luminous creatures, ethereal figures dancing in a setting that challenges the senses.
Our acrobats, with their incomparable lightness, soar on trapezes and billowing fabrics, themselves embellished with luminous elements. Their aerial choreography becomes an integral part of the story, embodying the grace and freedom that only light can suggest. The stage fills with a multitude of fantastical characters, each helping to create an enchanted and wondrous journey into the world of Luce.
This visual show is designed to amaze and engage. It is particularly suited to town-square events, open-air festivals and major events, where its scale and ability to transform the setting can be expressed at their best.
