Luna disperata e stelle sui trampoli

In Fabula

In Fabula is an engaging Compagnia dei Folli production that stages a duel as old as the world itself: the battle between Light and Darkness. Through a succession of powerful visual and narrative images, the audience is swept into a fairy tale, as the title itself suggests – “In Fabula” literally means “inside the tale”. Celestial figures such as the Stars, the Moon and the Sun come to life as the protagonists of this epic story.

In this tale, the forces of Light stand fiercely opposed to their sworn enemies: Darkness. Driven by a dark desire for supremacy, they attempt to prevail through a despicable act: they kidnap the beautiful fairy Amalthea. Not content with capturing her, they cast an evil spell upon her, turning her into a witch. Transformed in this way, Amalthea is forced to bend to the will of the forces of darkness, a tragic symbol of Light swallowed by shadow.

Just as the wicked plan of Darkness seems destined to succeed, the Sun, embodiment of strength and life, enters the battle. It engages in a fierce, titanic struggle against Darkness, determined to restore balance. Its power, made of unquenchable fire and dazzling light, proves unstoppable. In an epic battle, the Sun defeats Darkness completely, destroying its evil influence.

At the climax of the performance, the Sun strips away the witch’s disguise, breaking the evil spell that held the fairy Amalthea captive. With the fairy’s liberation, the Sun unequivocally reaffirms the sacred and indisputable supremacy of light over darkness. In Fabula is a hymn to hope, rebirth and the triumph of good, told through the visionary art and powerful stage imagery that characterise Compagnia dei Folli. It is a timeless story that resonates deeply, reminding us of the power of light, which always triumphs over darkness.
